Serve the Kingdom Coffee Co.

We believe there is a major problem in the coffee industry, and we have the solution!

Coffee drinkers are buying old, stale beans off the shelf without knowing where the beans were grown or when it was roasted. Unless of course you are buying single-origin coffee! Did you know that once the green coffee beans are roasted, that it loses its highest peak taste after 60 days? We stand on the promise that you won't ever have coffee sent to you outside of that 60-day window.

Our coffee has been grown in volcanic soil at 4,000ft elevation on the San Jose mountain in La Paz, Honduras. Once picked, the red cherries are left on during the sun-drying process to caramelize the green bean. It is then washed and packaged and delivered directly to Serve the Kingdom. The green beans are locally roasted in Jeffersonville, Indiana by Upstream Roasters and then sent directly to you!

Step 1: Cherry Picking

Coffee picking season peaks in Honduras in late November through April. Our farmer and his family all work with "cherry picking," a selective hand-harvesting method where only the perfectly ripe, deep-red coffee cherries are plucked from the branches. This labor-intensive dedication ensures that only the highest quality fruit advances to processing, laying the foundation for the complex, vibrant flavor profiles that define southern Honduran specialty coffee.

Step 2: Sun-Dry

Once picked and washed, the cherries are laid out in the hot Honduran sun to dry naturally. Our farmer and his family are rotating the cherries twice a day to ensure that the whole cherry is drying evenly. Leaving the cherry on while drying is not the most common method because it takes more time and major buyers in the coffee industry push high volume in a short amount of time. That's why our GOLD RESERVE roast is our customers' favorite! The dried cherry caramelizes to the green bean and creates intense notes of chocolate and caramel.

Step 3: Packaging and Shipping Green Beans

Our farmer, Elvin Ruiz, and his family work diligently and with the highest integrity in every step of the coffee process. Once the green coffee beans are completely dried, they are washed to strip away any cherry skins, and dried again. They immediately get packaged into large bags, or as little as one-pound bags for the individual customer. Bags are delivered in person by Elvin, driving them down the mountain to us 5 times a year. We then ship them back to Southern Indiana!

Step 4: Roasting

The green beans are dropped in a high temperature and pressure roaster while rotating in a heating drum. Just 13-14 minutes of this creates the perfect profile to our GOLD RESERVE roast. The beans should be a light to medium brown color with a visible oily finish that will ensure the highest quality grade bean and that taste is BREW-TASTIC!
